Wouldn’t you really like help with the design element of your website? Or you want to know the Website Design Disasters. To create a flow. Use your standard branded colors, graphics, and improve how to best highlight certain products and services over others. Well, let’s take a look at some of the most common design disasters I see over and over in my job as a web designer.
#1 Poor top bar navigation
I get it. We all need to start somewhere. But truly, you have no idea how powerful the first few listed page names at the top of your website truly are. They carry powerful SEO opportunities, and they lead people to where they need to go. Which is super important.
For example, you should always list your core products or services after the HOME page. And if you can’t decide what pages to include – go with the standard
HOME, SERVICES, SHOP, BLOG, ABOUT, CONTACT.
That’s it!
#2 Cluttering the main page
The design trend you need to follow if you don’t already is “less is more”. Those who know will agree. You don’t put 10 couches in a living room. So why try to squeeze 10 of the same thing on the main home page?
Your main home page design should lead people to make a decision. E.g. Go here – Click the button – Give us a call!
If you have too many options, people won’t know what to do, they won’t know where to sit down, and nobody stays on a website long enough to figure it out. People online get easily overwhelmed. So make it easy on them and just list exactly what you need to.
#3 Your branded photography is MIA
Did you know that it’s crucial for your business to have a professional photographer take photos. Yep I said it. Long gone are the days of using an old selfie post. You gotta level up.
Did you also know that a simple branding photoshoot can cost you anywhere from $50 – $300. Yep. That’s it. So the next thing you should do after reading this is get on the internet and see who in your area does branding photography. Headshots, and or product photography. It’s the only way to show who you really are online.
#4 No eCommerce capability
Yikes! You’ve come this far right? And you take orders over the phone. Well did you know that if you sell a product and you have no way to sell it online you are seriously missing out on the proper exposure you need to have to be a successful business in 2022?
